1 Year to Go

Wednesday 28^th July marks 1 year to go until the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony and here at Kukri Sports, we are well on the way to our third Commonwealth Games as official kit supplier to Team England and to our second Games with Team Canada.

After a magnificent Team England haul of 136 medals on the Gold Coast in 2018 that saw the athletes on the medal-winning podium time after time from the start of the Games to the nail-biting finish, we are immensely proud of the part we played in helping those athletes reach their full potential and play their part for team and country and we can’t wait to do it all again in Birmingham next year!

As we reach this important milestone in the countdown to the games, designs have been finalised and preparations are well underway for the kit reveal and the athlete kitting out experience ahead of the home Games in 2022. We are confident that our technical advances in the last four years will ensure even better fit and function across all the 19 sports taking part.

The huge task of providing over 400 athletes, coaches, and support staff with over 30 000 items of kit is no mean feat but our multisport bespoke experience stands us in good stead for the task ahead.

We will have a sizable team at the Games and will be working very hard over the next 12 months to ensure our plans are finalised so we can provide the best possible environment for athletes to compete, roared on by a large and enthusiastic crowd at all venues. An absolutely critical part of that preparation is to provide the best possible kit for all team members and, in Kukri, we have a fantastic partner who has been supporting us since 2014. Supported with input from Team England athletes, Kukri is working hard to ensure that all our kit in Birmingham looks and feels exceptional and shows all members of Team England in the best possible light.”
