Meet The Team Behind Your Team – Iain Wright

Iain is the Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and the north of England, where he helps a wide variety of customers with their sportswear needs, whether it’s a school, university, or local club.

What is your background?

“Growing up in the north west of England I was always passionate about sport and my ambition has always been to work in the sporting industry and I feel very fortunate that I have been able to do that.

My parents and grandparents were my inspiration growing up, they taught me about the importance of having a hard work ethic and how to run a business successfully.

I have worked in sales for over 20 years, initially working in the golf industry, before moving into sportswear 10 years ago. I have worked for Kukri Sports for almost 8 years and have enjoyed every minute!

I feel I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that I try to apply to my work every day.”

What do you enjoy about working at Kukri?

“I am someone who appreciates quality and at Kukri this can definitely be said for the products on offer and the people who work for the business.

I love the variety of work that each day brings; one day I could be working on a global account and the next I could be working on a charity event.

It is also fantastic to be dealing with people who share a passion about sport on a daily basis.”

What do you enjoy away from work?

“Family time is really important to me and I love being able to do simple things like walking my dog Hugo on the beach with my wife and kids.

My passion is for all things sport – primarily Golf (where I have a healthy handicap of 4) and cricket.”

“Make your parents proud, your enemies jealous and yourself happy.”
